“Women Against Social Evil” NGO conducts 2 days sensitization and awareness programme

Changlang, February 3, 2022: A two days sensitization and counseling program was conducted by Women Against Social evil (WASE). A renowned Women Activist group from East Siang district, Pasighat actively participated in the fight against Social evils plaguing our Society. The program was organized under the initiative of District Administration Changlang led by Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav as a part of the Central Government’s ambitious programme called “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan,” Drug free India Campaign to sensitize and motivate women groups, youths, self-help groups and CBOs for coming forward and playing an active role in the fight against Drug abuse, Alcoholism and Illicit trafficking for achieving a sustainable world free of Drug abuse.

So far around 15 villages under Changlang district have been covered under the various activities of the Campaign which includes preventive action, mass education, sensitization, capacity building of Service Providers, positive Partnership with Educational Institutions, augmentation of treatment, Rehabilitation and Counseling facilities. The President WASE Smti Yamin Dulom Darang, General Secretary Smti Jaya Tasung Moyong, Resource Person Dr Runi Tasung motivated the participants with their impact full speeches, counseling and power point Presentations.

ZPM Kantang Renu Mungrey, Khimiyang ZPM Kapjong Techi, Publicity Secretary Longchang Elite Society (LES) Nyasam Jongsam, Former ZPC Marina Kenglang, Changlang District Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr M Khimhun, Women SELF Help groups actively participated and presented their opinions while welcoming the WASE Team to their District.

Dr Mary N Taloh EAC, Dr Rani Mibang EAC, Todak Riba CO Khimiyang coordinated and led the events in Bubang, Yanman and Old Changlang villages of the District. The program culminated with counseling session of 61 persons of first batch Addicts who would soon undergo De-addiction program from Bubang Village.
