Initially, the Changlang district website was formally inaugurated and launched on February 10, 2003 by then Deputy Commissioner of Changlang district in presence of huge audience of administrative officers, Head of Departments, officials and staffs with full of enthusiasm and fervour. The Changlang district website is the first to launch district website after the Capital district Papumpare website in the entire state of Arunachal Pradesh. During the launched of the website, everyone present highly appreciated the effort of NIC district Unit in launching the Website. Then local minister of state for Irrigation and Flood control of Arunachal Pradesh, who also reviewed the Website was highly impressed and appreciated the endeavour involved and effort made by the NIC district Unit while developing the website. The initial district website also covered detailed profile of the district such as District at a glance, Government Departments, District Administration, Places of tourist interest in detail, such as the famous Stilwell Road (Ledo Road), the Namdapha National Park, about the people, arts, culture, tradition, Inner line Permit (Restricted Area Permit) Information, Distance Chart and Telephone Directory of the District. It also covered details about citizen services and government schemes implementation in the district through ICT services.

MIGRATION OF DISTRICT WEBSITE TO S3WaaS PLATFORM:

On June 11, 2018, the district website was formally migrated to a new platform called S3WaaS (Secure, Scalable and Sugamya Website as a Service) where at present the Changlang district website is being hosted with more secure, scalable, user-friendly and easy to maintain platform. It is a website generating framework based on SaaS (Software as a Service) model hosted on the National Cloud of NIC. It leverages technology to generate secure websites, which are highly customizable and seamlessly deployed on a scalable and completely software define infrastructure.

The S3WaaS platform was formally launched by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Law & Justice Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad in presence of the Secretary, Ministry of Electronic & Information Technology Shri Ajay Sawhney, DG NIC Dr Neeta Verma and other dignitaries during three-day DIOs National Meet on Grassroot Informatics – VIVID 2018 from Thursday, February 8, to Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The Changlang district website was migrated to this new platform just after the four months of its launched.

Subsequently in early August 2018, the entire district websites of Arunachal Pradesh were migrated to S3WaaS platform. The newly migrated, the Arunachal Pradesh district websites were inaugurated on August 12, 2018 by Hon’ble Union Minister of Electronics, Information Technology, Law and Justice Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad in presence of northeast Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, other Ministers, Senior NIC officers and dignitaries in a pomp and fanfare gathering function at Guwahati, Assam.

DISTRICT WEBSITE BAGGED GOLD IN DIGITAL INDIA AWARDS 2020

The Changlang district website was awarded GOLD in Digital India Awards 2020 on the theme “Excellence in Digital Governance – District” category. On December 30, 2020, the Hon’ble President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind conferred the awards in presence of the Hon’ble Union Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Law & Justice Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Secretary Ministry of Electronic & Information Technology Shri Ajay Sawhney, DG NIC Dr Neeta Verma and other dignitaries.

The Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav, IAS and the District Informatics Officer (Technical Director) Shri Radhe Hinda received the Award from Hon’ble President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind at the award ceremony held at Kolkata through a video conferencing observing the COVID-19 SoP guidelines.

The district website has been important digital asset of the district in terms of information dissemination to general public and it will remain committed to reflects ICT services initiative in the district.
