SALIENT FEATURES:

The Department endeavours to achieve the aim of disaster resilient district by strengthening the capabilities of all stake holders as well as people from walks of life through awareness training, mock exercises, etc enabling them to respond to disaster befittingly using locally available resources. It also sensitizes people about the possible hazards by doing risk assessment to mitigate the impacts and possible damages due to such hazards. The department coordinates various stakeholders during any disaster and ensures rescue operations are initiate as per Incident Response System. The department also deals with assessment of damages due to natural calamities and distribution of relief thereof and submits report to the state Govt as well as central Govt.
