The Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India Shri Sanjiv Sahai visited Changlang

CHANGLANG, DEC 3: The Secretary (Power), Ministry of Power, Government of India, Shri Sanjiv Sahai paid one day visit to Changlang District headquarters, today, to take stock of hydropower projects status as well as future prospects for hydropower development in the district. He was accompanied by Joint Secretary (Hydropower), CMD, NHPC Limited and Director, NHPC Project Limited, Faridabad.
Addressing the gathering in an interaction meeting held in DC’s conference hall, Shri Sahai asserted that Hydropower projects are vital for development of the area like Changlang district, which can be a source of revenue and assured all possible help to get the projects from the district sanctioned schemes. Shri Sahai, who served the district as Deputy Commissioner of the District during early 90’s appreciated the people of Changlang for their peace loving nature.
Earlier, Deputy Speaker, Arunachal Legislative Assembly Shri Tesam Pongte and MLA, Changlang North Assembly Constituency Shri Phosum Khimhun informed Shri Sahai about various Hydropower project submitted to Government of India for consideration and urged him to help getting the projects sanctioned.
The Chief Engineer (Power) presented the status of Hydropower projects and the future prospects of Hydropower in the district. The Deputy Commissioner, Namsai district Shri R.K Sharma and Incharge Deputy Commissioner, Changlang district Shri Talo Jerang also spoke on the occasion. The meeting was attended by the HODs and Public leaders of Changlang.
