The ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ (Government at your doorstep) programme is an initiative of the state government, which was passed in the 2018-19 budget, directing every deputy commissioner to conduct Jan-sunwais on the first of every month in their respective districts to resolve public grievances on the spot.
The main objective of the Jan-Sunwai Sammelan is to deliver government services to the citizens. The services provided during the programme are Aadhaar enrollment, e-ILP, Schedule Tribe certificates, Residence certificates, Income certificate, Driving licences, renewal of arms licences, distribution of items under the Ujala scheme, new account opening and other government schemes, etc. Many a times, government schemes, including centrally sponsored schemes remain unknown to the beneficiaries, for whom they are intended. It is necessary that every department work out a proper plan to create awareness regarding important schemes and services concerning to all departments.
