8th International Yoga Day celebrated at Changlang district

Changlang, June 21, 2022: The International Yoga Day 2022 was celebrated in Changlang district along with rest of the country. Since 2015, the International Yoga Day has been celebrating on June 21 every year. The theme of this year’s Yoga Day celebrations is ‘Yoga for Humanity’ and around 25 crore people across the world were expected to take part in various events, doing yoga in unison towards better health and wellness for all.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated in Yoga demonstration along with thousands of Indians to mark International Day of Yoga at Mysore Palace in Mysuru. Yoga enthusiasts across the world Tuesday took part in mass yoga events to mark International Yoga Day.

In Changlang this year with pomp and festivity, the International Yoga Day camp was organized at Changlang Helipad by district administration in collaboration with 9-Assam Rifles. The Arunachal Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte, Deputy Commissioner Sunny K. Singh, SP Mihin Gambo, 9-Assam Rifles Commandent participated in Yoga demonstration along with large number of participants from 9-Assam Rifles, Police, district administration, students, teachers, medical staffs, HoDs and public leaders.

The host of programmes were also organized such as Medical camp, distribution of Essay competition prizes winner to the students, No Tobacco pledge administered by DC Changlang to Yoga participants, mass social services etc.
