COVID -19 vaccination for children age group of 15-18 years launched in Changlang

Changlang, January 03, 2022: The Covaxin as a part of the COVID-19 vaccination formally launch for the age group of Children between 15 to 18 years at District Hospital, Changlang. The Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav formally opens the first vaccination container box in presence of DMO Dr Koblem Mossang, WHO-SMO (NPSP) Dr Geetika Bashist, Medical Superintendent Dr Mekcha Khimhun, DSO (IDSP) Dr RC Das, and Medical Officers and Officials. The 9-Assam Rifles Colonel Surendra Kumar also present in the launching programme with his wife and daughter as the first dose beneficiary under this age group.
Moreover, the Covishield vaccination for 18 plus age groups is also being undergoing simultaneously. In this Mega Vaccination drive, total 28 beneficiaries under 15-18 years age group received their first dose of Covaxin until 12 noon. The second dose of Covaxin shall be given at the interval of 28 days. The Launch of Covaxin programmes also reported from all CVCs (CHCs and PHCs) of Changlang. The precautionary booster dose for Covishield is also scheduled to be launched on January 10, 2022 in the district.
In his inaugural Speech, the DC advised the DMO/DRCHO to coordinate with DDSE for maximum coverage of 15 to 18 years of age by conducting vaccination sessions at schools on slot-wise for which administrative order has already been issued to involve all Stakeholders of administration, Health and Education to ensure maximum coverage.
Colonel 9-Assam Rifles, WHO-SMO, DMO also spoke on the occasion and vote of thanks by MS, District Hospital. Earlier DRCHO gave welcome address while elaborating in the objective of the programme.
