A week long training on Disaster Management started

CHANGLANG, December 14, 2020: A Week long training on Disaster Management organised by the District Administration Changlang in collaboration with Organisation of Disaster Managers, New Delhi kicked off at Government Hr Sec School, Changlang today. Attending as a Chief Guest Changlang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS appreciated the joint effort put forward by both teachers and students in resuming normal classes by following govt SOP during this pandemic. Informing about the recent crowd funding initiative taken by him, the DC urged Students to try excelling in academic field assuring that similar help will be extended to such students in near future. Speaking on various natural calamities witnessed by Changlang District, he exhorted students to grasp the ideas being imparted through the training to become disaster resilient.
Later, the team headed by Shri Vinod Bhardwaj, President Organisation of Disaster Managers taught several effective techniques useful during natural calamities involving teachers and students of the school. They were also given tips on how to prevent themselves in case of any untoward incidents. The team also explained about various fire extinguishers and its operation during fire accidents through demonstration. Live demonstration on creating makeshift stretcher using locally available materials and ways to rescue various injured and unconscious persons in case of catastrophe.
Later, the team also undertook safety audit of the school buildings and explained preparation of School Disaster Management Plan and Landslide preparedness.
Earlier, DDMO Changlang Shri Dorjee Khandu in his key note address informed about different natural calamities occur in the district.
