The Deputy Commissioner, Changlang, undertook an extensive field tour covering Ranglum (Kantang Circle), Hetman (Renuk Circle), and multiple interior locations under Khimiyang Circle including Yanman, Longkey, Songkhuhavi, Jonjihavi, Khimiyang and nearby villages. The visit was part of the District Administration’s continuous effort to assess ground realities, understand developmental needs, and strengthen service delivery in remote and interior regions of the district.
Travelling through challenging off-road and interior routes, the DC along with the team of senior officers reviewed the status of key public infrastructure, road connectivity and essential government services. The team inspected schools, interacted with teachers and students, and assessed the availability of learning resources and facilities crucial for improving educational outcomes.
During village interactions at Ranglum, Hetman, Yanman and various other locations, the DC engaged with villagers, community leaders and students to understand their concerns related to road connectivity, health services, education, drinking water, and other essential facilities. The feedback received from the community offered valuable insights for planning targeted interventions and strengthening grassroots governance.
A special focus of the visit was the assessment of interior road conditions, including the inspection of the proposed approach road to the Border Pillar under Khimiyang Circle. The team observed areas requiring immediate attention and noted the developmental priorities highlighted by local residents.
The field tour was accompanied by SP Changlang, DDSE, DDMO, DIO, DSO, Assistant Commissioner Khimiyang, OC Khimiyang Police Station, along with field staff and supporting personnel from the District Administration and Police. Their participation ensured a comprehensive review of multi-sectoral issues across the visited locations.
